Albergaria Vila Lido

We had a small balcony and views in three directions from our room. The hotel’s location is hard to beat, with the beach just opposite and steps leading down to it and around to the Marina. Those steps are steep, so keep that in mind for younger or older guests, though reaching the beach in this area means going down the cliffs anyway. Cafes, bars and hotels start about 20 metres from the gate at Praise dear Rocha. Buses and tours leave from stops by the Santa Catarina fort, just 10 yards from the gate. The staff were wonderful, helpful and efficient, and the old-style hotel felt full of character. It was clean and relaxed, with restaurants and bars close by. Breakfast was brilliant and set us up for long days exploring the huge beaches. We’ll definitely return when we get the chance.
