I ended up enjoying the quiet of my apartment and sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine. This is a residential area, and finding places took me a week and left my legs sore. You need a car, though I preferred walking because you see more and can stop for a wine or lager. There are little cafés here and there, full of locals, which I liked. It was a bit hard with the language, but people tried to speak English. I looked for a Portuguese phrasebook and couldn’t find one. Two huge supermarkets are nearby, Lidle and intercontinental. The fish counter was fantastic, with the freshest fish I’ve ever seen. I used to be a fishmonger, so I know. I could have walked around it all day. The place is ideal if you just want to relax. I was glad it was peaceful back at the apartment, without the noisy, swearing English visitors in tops 😂.

Everything else was brilliant, and I’d definitely recommend staying here 💯💯👍. The manager, Marco, was really nice and helpful. My partner called about a wifi issue, and Marco sorted it out in no time. The cleaners were friendly too. We did find black hairs around the bathroom, sitting room, and bed 🤭, so maybe one of the cleaner ladies has some hair falling out.

I loved my stay, and the location was great. I know the area and had worried about noise from the main Road. It was noisy in the daytime, but it didn’t bother me. At night there was almost no traffic, so it was super quiet.

There’s free street parking, and supermarkets are about five minutes away. Portimão Center is a 15-minute walk. The small apartment near Portimao center has the basics for a few days, including a little kitchenette and a big bed.

Just a warning about this SCAM of a place in Praia da Rocha, Portugal. My mum and dad booked and paid in full for the weekend. When they arrived, they contacted the guy because they had no code to get into the residence. He said he didn’t have one, left them with nowhere to stay, and told them to leave him a bad review if they wanted because he wasn’t bothered. What a joke 😡 Luckily, after hours of driving around in a taxi, they found another hotel. They could easily have ended up with nowhere to sleep in a foreign country, especially if they hadn’t had the money to book somewhere else. ****** PLEASE SHARE to warn others. It has good reviews online, which is really deceiving ******
