The checkout routine was the worst part. I had to wait more than half an hour while staff inspected the room before they’d let me leave. They were also very rigid about late checkout, despite it being low season and the hotel seeming far from full. My king bed and pillows were so uncomfortable that I struggled to rest. The room was gloomy, with hardly any useful lighting or power outlets. I can’t see how this place earns a four-star rating. It was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in in the Algarve, poor value, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Room 48 was huge and had plenty of space for a family, and the location between the two main areas worked well. We enjoyed our stay, and the cleaning staff were friendly and thorough. Some things felt like they’d been put together in a rush: the sink plug didn’t work properly, though they fixed it, the bedroom drawers stuck, and the washing machine didn’t work.

The apartment was roomy and well laid out, with a kitchen stocked with utensils, so it was easy to make breakfast and eat on the balcony. I spent 10 days at Vista Marina Apartamentos Turísticos and found the surroundings calm and clean. The indoor pool was peaceful and comfortable, a lovely place to unwind. Everyone at reception was welcoming and helpful, and the housekeeping team were friendly, attentive, and hardworking. I’d happily come back after such an enjoyable stay. A couple of ideas: a fridge or mini bar at reception with drinks and snacks would help guests arriving late or forgetting to shop. The gym doesn’t open until 10 AM, which is late if you want an early workout. Opening at 6 or 7 AM would be much better.

The place was clean, with good restaurants and pools, and the location was great too. My only reservations are the room size and the prices.

We got great value for the price. The one-bedroom apartment had lots of space, the kitchen was well equipped, and the staff were friendly. The weather was awful, so we stayed in and cooked seafood. It ended up being a cozy highlight.
