Campo & Mar Apartments

The communication stopped after we left, and we’re still waiting for our money, going back and forth with booking.com to get it back. We asked for a refund after complaining, and the landlord agreed through booking. We should have kept the keys and asked for cash back. This whole experience ruined our trip, and we learned a lot from it. Before that, getting into the place was a mess. We paid at some random bar, which we later realized was a mistake, then found the key box empty. More than an hour later, the landlord's mother arrived and showed us the wrong apartment. We were told it was the right one, but we definitely hadn’t booked ground-floor accommodation. Later we saw that the photos on booking were mixed up, so it was hard to tell what place we were actually booking. The apartment was disgusting, with mold and dirt everywhere. It was separated from the neighboring apartment by just a normal door. When the other guests used the washing machine behind it, we could hear literally every word. That’s not privacy or modern standards, and this wasn’t disclosed beforehand. This is an absolute scam, by far the worst experience we’ve had in a long time, probably ever. Whoever reads this, we can only advise you not to book it. We went to the Aqua Studios Hotel downtown in Porto Moniz instead, at a similar price, at least during off season, and the quality was much higher. And to the landlord, you're an absolute disaster of a person.
