The Jolie Apartments

The hosts were kind and quick to respond, and even sent useful parking tips and other advice before our trip. The spacious, clean apartment was well designed, thoughtfully equipped, and well maintained. It had everything we wanted, including a washing machine and kitchen, and the shower had great water pressure. For the price, it’s a gem in the area. I fully recommend it.

Apartment #4 was a little below ground, and the photos matched what we found. The building looks a bit shabby from outside, and the garage is old and narrow. The main draws are the location and parking, though the price feels a little high for what you get. Still, a solid 4 stars, and I can recommend it.

The apartment at the Jolie was modern and lovely, and check-in was easy. We could walk to the store, restaurants, and pools without trouble. There was some traffic noise during the day, but it was quiet at night. We loved our stay and highly recommend both the Jolie and staying in Porto Moniz.

One of the laundry machines in the basement worked, which was a plus. Room number 8, though, is tiny, with barely enough room to stand beside the bed. The bathroom sliding door wouldn’t close properly and looked like it had been patched up in a hurry with a wooden plank. One of the blue towels provided was still wet from its previous use, and the tea glasses were dirty too.
