Flag Hotel Lisboa Oeiras

Charging 90 euros a night feels like a robbery for what you get. The hotel is old, worn out and broken, and the value for money is awful. It's stuck at a service station between highway tolls, which makes the location terrible. Service can be fine, unless housekeeping wakes you by making a racket and disrupting all the rooms.

The location wasn't good, so I probably wouldn't have returned anyway. But I booked because the listing said the hotel welcomed dogs, and my small, well-behaved dog weighs just 12 lb. Check-in was fine; at checkout, though, the man at the desk repeatedly scolded me for bringing her and insisted I was wrong about the pet-friendly listing. He was so rude that he made me feel awful. I was waiting for my ride, so I went outside after telling him I wouldn't be back. I'm attaching a screenshot of the booking page, which you can click to see where it says dogs are welcome. That man shouldn't be working with the public.

We only needed a room for one night, and this basic place did the job. The room was small, with a decent bathroom, and there weren't many amenities. Parking nearby was difficult, so we had to pay for the garage. Watch out, though, because the spaces are so tight that only a small car will fit. It wasn't terrible.

The price was too high for the poor service. The air conditioning is controlled by reception, and it was switched off overnight. The place seemed new, yet the toilet was dirty and there were stains on the towel.
