Marta made us feel very welcome, even leaving a bottle of Port and a map, and talking us through what to see and where to go. The five-bedroom apartment is spotless and has three bathrooms, including an ensuite, plus everything we needed, from a hairdryer to soap and shower products. Breakfast was generous and excellent, served in the apartment with an ocean view. It's a bit uphill and about a 10-minute walk from the main road, so it's not very central. Still, I'd choose it first if I returned to Porto.

The bathrooms and showers were clean, and the Wi-Fi was fast. There was a TV too, though we didn't use it. The apartment is spacious and fully equipped, with a big living-room table that worked well for breakfast and evening chats. In good weather, you can see the whole city and the ocean in the distance. Walkers should be happy here, though getting to the center means a bit of walking each day. Coffee and pastries are 100 meters away, and groceries about 400 meters away; there's more shopping closer to the center.

The staff were excellent, friendly, and accommodating. From the hilltop, it's an easy, quick walk to the city center, and the parking lot is useful, though reserving a space ahead is a good idea. The food was okay but could have been more filling; that was fine for us since we walked into town anyway. The hotel has an old 1960s feel, but we found it charming. The elevator is very slow, and the rooms badly need renovation, though that'll probably happen in time. We were fine with our stay.
