Bombarda Cinema Apartments

Quiet and clean, with everything provided. A nice spot close to central Porto.

The only thing that bothered us was how loudly the wooden floor creaked whenever we walked on it. Otherwise, everything was excellent and I'd happily return. The place had a small kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and good facilities. It's under a 10-minute walk to the city center, with several reasonably priced parking choices nearby.

We rented unit 1.8 for four nights for two adults and our 17-year-old son. It wasn't cheap, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend it for more than one or two people. The photos on Booking.com are misleading for this unit, at least. The apartment is split over two very small levels, each about 10-12 square meters. There was no third bed, just a sofa that wasn't a bed and was extremely uncomfortable. They put a very hot synthetic topper on it. We asked for even a 5cm mattress so we wouldn't feel the cushions underneath, but the host wouldn't sort it out. The stairs between floors were very narrow, steep, and felt dangerous. We couldn't take our luggage upstairs, so it ended up downstairs under and on the coffee table, on chairs, and in front of the sink. There was no room to use the apartment for meals. The bathroom fan was extremely loud, and the plasterboard walls let us hear every sound from neighboring apartments, even footsteps. Cleaning was also a problem. The apartment was in decent shape when we arrived, but there were dirty socks and shower gel caps in the bathroom, so the initial clean hadn't been thorough. Daily cleaning amounted to emptying the bathroom and kitchen bins and making the bed. There was nothing to clean with, especially the floor. We remove our shoes at the entrance and wear slippers in the bedroom, and our towels weren't changed during the four days. There were some useful things nearby: it's very close to the center, with a laundromat and a convenient supermarket around the corner, bars and restaurants in the area, and a multi-story garage on the parallel street. 1 star because it's the best.

We stayed in the Matrix apartment and really liked it. It was very clean, with a supermarket and other shops close by. The entry codes worked perfectly, and we stayed in regular touch with the staff on WhatsApp. They even let us leave our luggage at reception. Excellent location.
