Canto De Luz - Luxury Maison

We had a nice four-night stay, and the location made it easy to find plenty to see and do without being surrounded by crowds. The staff were pleasant, easy to reach and keen to help. The room was thoughtfully equipped, including things for cooking, and the bed was more comfortable than I expected. I slept a lot. I wear earplugs when I travel, so noise didn’t bother me while sleeping. Just a heads-up: in the ground-floor city retreat, sound may carry in from the street-level windows and the dining area where guests gather and chat. No complaints from me, just something to know.

We stayed in urban retreat I, which was spacious, clean and packed with amenities. The included daily breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were excellent. Everyone there seemed to care about their work and enjoy being at the hotel. It’s an incredible place. We chose the port tasting since we were in Porto, and I’d recommend checking out one of their wine tastings.

We spent three nights here and loved the comfortable bed, immaculate room and helpful staff. The heated towel rack was a nice extra. Their restaurant suggestions were spot on, and lots of local attractions are an easy walk away. What a beautiful boutique hotel. Highly recommend!

When I got sick during the trip, Zuzanna brought tea and ibuprofen to my room. Such a thoughtful, personal gesture, and the tea was phenomenal too. She’d already given us ideas and a to-do list for our three days, and we ended up doing pretty much everything she suggested. My favourite dinner tip was Almada 331, where Fernando is great. The breakfast hosts and cooks were lovely, and the food was so good I cleaned my plate. The place looks just like its gorgeous online photos, and the service matches it. You won’t regret staying here. We’ll be back soon, Canto de Luz!
