We found the apartment spotless and very well equipped, with plenty of appliances and kitchen utensils. It’s also a comfortable base for exploring Porto, and would suit a smaller family. Our arrival was after midnight, but the self check-in instructions were very detailed. Once inside, we were pleasantly surprised to find a full breakfast, coffee capsules, and a bottle of tawny port waiting for us. Bolhão metro station is only a three-minute walk away, and the direct “E” line from the airport made getting there easy, without changing trains. “Mercado da Bolhão” is close by as well. We walked to sights across Porto and over the Douro River to Vila Nova de Gaia, passing “Livraria Lello”, the “Carmelitas” church, Clérigos Church and Tower, “Palácio da Bolsa”, the Cathedral, and São Bento railway station.

Casa da Andorinha is in a central spot, close to most of Porto’s attractions, and I highly recommend staying there. The apartment was clean and stocked with towels, shower products, a dishwasher, laundry supplies, washer, fridge and freezer, oven, microwave, and more. It’s a good fit for two people or a family with one or two young children. One thing to keep in mind if mobility is limited: there are steep stairs and no elevator, though that’s common with apartments in the area.
We walked everywhere from Renata’s place, and the house was perfect for us as a couple with one or two small children. It had all the comforts of home and was spotless and fully equipped. Renata was attentive whenever we had a question or concern, and she even left a little something for the adults and the child. Perfect accommodation, I recommend it wholeheartedly.
