The host was incredibly rude and communication was awful. I was standing outside the apartment when I called, and he canceled our booking. He sounded like a lunatic on the phone and really scared me. Avoid this place and find somewhere else. 0/5 stars.

We were quite happy with the stay overall, and it was easy to park on the street. There’s no parking lot, and the metro is right next door. We stayed in apartment number 4 for a week and liked both the place, which was plenty big for two, and the code-based key pickup. The kitchen was well equipped but small, and the pots and pans were so worn that cooking was almost impossible. The bed was large, but the mattress was pretty bad, with springs so noticeable that we woke up bent over. Since we were there for a week, the listing said the apartment would be cleaned after four days, but nobody came.

We had paid for a reservation a month ahead, but when we got to the apartment and called the manager, he said at 9:00 PM that the room wasn’t ready and Booking.com would find a solution. We were left wandering around Porto until 11:00 PM. Then we were told we could either go to a more expensive hotel without a kitchen or stay on the street. A disaster, and very unprofessional!

We had to ask other guests how to get into the apartment and call the owner, since he hadn’t cared to ask when we’d arrive. The place was neglected all around, both cleanliness and facilities. After we left, he messaged us saying we owed 2 euros per day per person, though he’d never mentioned it before. He also threatened to report us to the police. Be careful with this guy. After I left a review on Booking.com, he came back to tell me he thought what I’d written was awful. My response: fix up the apartment, which is in a sorry state. We’ve paid the same and stayed in far better places in Portugal. Don’t tell us we can’t book elsewhere because we can’t afford it. What do you know? It seems you can’t afford to bring your apartments up to even basic standards, you shameless crook. We already told you how to make the transfer, but you haven’t given us your name or the bank name, which is suspicious. People like you damage Porto’s image. I wouldn’t return even if it were free.

We had a confirmed Booking.com reservation through Atrápalo and had said we’d arrive late. When we got there, nobody was around and there was no number to call. Some guests gave us a number, and we reached the person in charge of Casamia. He was unpleasant and rude, then canceled the reservation about an hour later, around 1:00 AM. We found a better hotel with breakfast included and friendly staff.
