Cosy 4 in Oporto With 2 Bedrooms and 1 Bathrooms

We got good value and would stay again. The room was clean, comfortable, and roomy, while the bathroom was smaller but still fine for showering, even for me at 1,90 and on the wide side. Our room had a backyard window and a small terrace. Most tourist attractions were easy to reach on foot, including the walk back in the evening, and there’s a bus stop right outside the hotel. The mattresses were a bit firm, which suited me. I took off a star because our ground-level room felt quite eary, with people walking by and ringing the doorbell audible inside. In return, we had the terrace and no street noise, and it didn’t wake us up.

The price felt fair to us, and having reception open 24 hours was handy. It's a reasonable place to stay while visiting Porto, within walking distance of the harbor and plenty of sights. We were told the hotel is due to be restored.

We stayed at Oporto Cosy Room 8 with a friend, and left feeling a bit scammed. There was hair and dust under the bed, trash in a wooden tissue box, and contact lenses stuck to the bedside table. The room seemed very poorly maintained, and we wondered whether the sheets had even been changed. The whole house smelled of mold. The bathroom had a strong drain-like smell, and the shower curtains looked like they needed a proper wash. It was a pretty bad stay.

Room #1 was clean and check-in went smoothly, but the air in the room felt damp and stuffy. We woke up each morning with mold-smelling clothes, and although it looked like someone had tried to improve ventilation with a fan, the dampness stayed. We tried to laugh off the bad situation, but it made the stay hard to enjoy. The windows couldn't be left open at night because passing cars, loud bikes, and people were easy to hear. We had videos but couldn't upload them to Google Maps' reviews. The place is near one of the Metro lines, though it's at the top of a hill that we had to walk up at the end of each day. We expected better conditions, and the Airbnb and GuestReady reviews didn't match what we found. The photos also led us to expect a ground or higher floor, so the basement room should be made clear in the listing. It was confusing to find tea, coffee, and suger packets without a kitchen, kettle, or fridge to use them with. I hope they can sort these problems out, because with the basic needs covered it could have been a nice, relaxing room to return to in Porto.
