Downtown Clerigos With River View by Vacationy

We stayed for two nights over the weekend and loved it. The host was dog friendly, for an extra €10 per night, and we’d happily recommend them. The apartment was very clean and right in the old town, with bars, restaurants, shops, bakeries and sights all around. It had a king size bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a couch and a full bathroom, everything we needed for a few nights. Check-in and checkout were contactless and went smoothly. There’s no parking right outside, but Saba - Cardosas garage is about a three-minute walk away.

The basics are covered, and the customer service was fantastic. They even arranged for us to arrive very early in the morning. The location is central to everything, and the free laundry was a huge help for someone travelling long term. There aren’t many extras beyond that.

We’d expected a hotel, but Clerigos View turned out to be serviced apartments with that hotel-like feel, and it was such a good surprise. Nuno made us feel welcome. The room was quiet, the bed and soft, crisp duvet were extremely comfortable, and we slept really well. The shower was excellent, with a strong flow of warm water to get the day started. They’d put thought into the amenities too, including different wine glasses and a dishwasher. The location made it easy to get around on foot, even though the day we arrived was very rainy. We had a wholesome breakfast at the bakery just downstairs, which isn’t part of Clerigos View but was handy to have so close, and bought two boxes of pasteles de nata. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby too. We ended the stay with port at a nearby bar and walked back to our cozy room. A super experience. We’ll come back when we’re in Porto. No hot water at all. The room was filthy, smelly and very small, and the furniture and appliances were worn out and dirty. We were on the third floor with no elevator, and could hear people in the staircase and the other rooms.
