Flattered to be in Porto

We had such a good time, and I’d stay here again if I return to Porto. The staff were easy to contact on WhatsApp, check-in was simple, and the cleaning team were lovely. Tanya spoke English with us easily, suggested places like Braga and where to catch the sightseeing buses, and even helped get our suitcases fixed, which was a relief. The ocean view was wonderful, and there were plenty of shops nearby, including supermarkets and cafes. The apartment was beautiful and well equipped, with beach towels and toys for children. We were happy with breakfast, though I’d have liked more choices. There are stairs to keep in mind, and I would’ve appreciated a switch or extension for charging electronics. Thanks, Team Flattered!

We chose this place to get away from the city crowds, and its oceanfront setting worked well for our family of four. It’s a few miles from the center, in a safe neighborhood near the trolley and bus routes. There are also lots of excellent restaurants close by. The two-level apartment was clean and modern. Downstairs were two beds and a bathroom, while upstairs the living area had a Murphy bed. The ocean view from the window was lovely for quiet moments and sunsets. Breakfast was delivered to the door each day, with a choice of what to have. The street is busy, and the weather was very hot during our stay, so we used the A/C at night. With the shutters closed, the traffic noise stopped and we slept well. Check-in was easy, and we’d happily return.

Foz felt much calmer than the city center, especially in summer, and Flattered was on a quiet street just a block from the ocean. The neighborhood has stylish and traditional restaurants, chic shops, parks, and two grocery stores within a few minutes’ walk. We found free parking for our rental cars and used Ubers to get downtown and to Serralves museum and gardens, just five minutes away. My husband, our 22-year-old daughter, and I spent three happy nights here. The apartment is beautifully designed, so comfortable that it was hard to leave. We were treated to little things in the kitchen, and the staff’s daily check-ins, local tips, and help felt like real Portuguese hospitality. I can’t wait to try their other Portugal locations. A taxi driver described this part of Porto as the rich kids region. We found a mix of boutiques and small older buildings that could use renovation, and that mix gave the area its character. A bus takes about 10 minutes to reach the old town. The apartment had a spacious room with an ocean view and a nice blend of design furniture. It was carefully planned and equipped to a high standard, including a washing machine, tumbler, fridge, and hair dryer. Miguel was always ready with restaurant ideas and activities for kids. On our first day, we were given a basket of delicious organic breakfast items. The service made our family of four feel very well looked after.
