The apartment also had bugs, which I photographed, but Isabelle told Booking.com there were none and claimed we never arrived. We had in fact booked the Porto Heroismo studio and left within 20 minutes because the mattress was stained with what looked like human fluids. The photos speak for themselves, it seemed like a biohazard. Despite our leaving right away due to unlivable conditions, Isabelle, the property manager, refused to refund our one-week booking. We later found other reviews describing guests contacting police about uninhabitable conditions and a broken oven. Isabelle accused those guests of breaking it, though her employee Stephanny reportedly said it was already broken before check-in. I'm attaching a screenshot of that review. This company and its disgusting properties are a nightmare. Avoid them.

We even submitted a complaint letter to the Portuguese government. The manager was very disrespectful, and check-in took an hour of waiting. The house smelled bad, the Wi-Fi kept failing, and the water wasn't working properly. There was no dishwasher or washing machine either. They demanded a €25 cleaning fee that wasn't on the reservation, or else a €300 cash deposit, also undisclosed. Be careful with this guesthouse.

Then, on the last day, they asked us to wash the dishes and take out the trash because of “covid-19.” It was 2022, so that explanation sounded like a bad joke. And even setting that aside, I wasn't going to clean an apartment after paying €62 to have it cleaned.

The manager was very rude, and check-in was delayed, so we had to wait. The room wasn't clean and everything had a strange smell. There's also a €25 cleaning charge, or they ask for a €300 deposit if you don't want to pay it. Unbelievable. A very bad experience.
