Guesthouse Monsanto

Our stay in one of the two basement rooms was terrible. It was extremely humid, smelled really bad and had visible mould on the walls. I wasn’t willing to sleep in those uncomfortable, unhealthy conditions, so we contacted the host. She kindly gave us a full refund, but didn’t seem surprised by the room’s state. We felt she was renting those rooms while aware of their condition. That left us having to find and move to other accommodation at the last minute, which took away from our trip. Very disappointing. This guesthouse has plenty of nice rooms, which seems to explain its high average rating, but don’t assume you’ll get one. You could end up in a terrible room.
