We loved Porto and would happily stay here again. Breakfast had a huge choice, and they left a fresh large bottle of water in the room each day. The whole hotel was bright and clean, with the rooms cleaned to a very high standard every day during our four-night stay last week. It’s a good walk down to the centre, which didn’t bother us, though we took an Uber back a couple of times for just 4 euros.

The location worked really well for us. Mercado Bom Sucesso and a shopping mall are only a three-minute walk away, and the area is quiet at night. An Uber to the riverside or downtown was around €7. I also left my phone charger in the room, and it was recovered. This was one of the best value stays I’ve had, with budget prices but comfort and quality at a higher level. The room was spotless and had a nice welcome note with local candies. I’ll definitely return to HF Fénix Porto.

The only snag was on arrival: just one elevator was working, and with all our bags we waited 30 minutes to reach the room. Still, the hotel was really nice, breakfast was good, and the stay was a very nice experience.

The rooms are spotless, and the staff are so friendly and helpful that nothing feels like a problem. There’s a taxi rank right outside and a beautiful food hall nearby. It’s a lovely hotel, and I’d highly recommend it. Jim N.
