At reception, my check-in was disappointing. The staff member wasn’t welcoming and tried to charge me €5 for a towel I hadn’t asked for, which I returned. Some guests were inconsiderate, talking loudly on their phones around 11 p.m., and the atmosphere wasn’t pleasant. The place itself is affordable and generally okay, with acceptable facilities, but it didn’t feel worth the price. It’s far from the city center, and the savings compared with staying closer aren’t significant. I wouldn’t recommend spending the extra time and money commuting from so far away. With the location, reception, and other guests’ behavior, this hostel is hard to recommend.

The kitchen isn’t fully equipped. The pans seem to be just for show, which I found really strange. There’s an air fryer, toaster, and kettle, and not much else. It’s nice to have a grocery store close by, but downtown is pretty far away. The hostel might be okay if you absolutely need the cheapest place, but if you can spend a bit more to get some sleep, don’t book here. It was hard to get a full night’s rest. The receptionist was sleeping in my room, which normally wouldn’t bother me, but she and another guest talked really loudly from 7 to 8 a.m. They also swung the room door open so hard that it woke me every time. You can hear noise easily from other rooms, and it gets stuffy sometimes because each room has just one small window. A bright light also came on whenever someone entered or left the hostel. Communication was terrible. Check-in is only from 15-19, a very small window for a hostel, and they don’t give you the code until you arrive. If you’re late, you could be stuck for hours trying to get another guest to let you in.

The hostel felt peaceful, and the welcome from the staff was warm. They listened and were ready to help with any hospitality matter. From what I saw, the way it’s arranged makes it feel like home rather than a hostel. There’s free Wi-Fi, a boiler, refrigerators, and a washing machine, as well as an iron and a clothes dryer. I also liked the use of technology to save water and energy, the ecological materials, and the waste sorting. There’s even a little beauty corner for ladies and a lovely, very quiet small garden, perfect for reading or remote work.

A great place to stay, close to a metro station. The kitchen is very tidy, clean, and well equipped, and I totally recommend it. Congratulations to the owner Francisco!

Lovely place, with some amazing staff. I had my best nights in Porto here.
