The neighborhood was my main concern. Although the apartment is near the station, the narrow streets around it felt unpleasant, and we didn’t feel safe at night with children. We only came back late once, but it left us uneasy. Maybe that’s part of why the price is lower than elsewhere in the city. The online support was attentive and quick, and the apartment itself is comfortable, fully renovated and well equipped for a short stay. The sofa bed works for two as a sofa, but a larger group would need another chair. Some amenities aren’t included, though they aren’t advertised either, so you know what to expect. The free parking means street parking, and finding a space can be hard. Locals may have taken them, or residents may put things out to hold spots. Soundproofing could be better too: you hear trains, though they stop at night, and the upstairs neighbor walking around. Those things are understandable when renting an apartment rather than a hotel. The metro is right outside, so getting around is easy, while the area itself is away from the city bustle. We could also walk to the old town in about half an hour, with a beautiful route along the Douro River. We’d happily return. The apartment was great for two, spotless and had all the amenities. The bed was very comfortable, neither too soft nor too hard, and there’s even a pillow menu. I’ll miss the shower. The cleaning staff were so friendly and helpful, and the landlord always replied right away when we reached out.

A roomy, comfortable place with everything needed to cook and enjoy the stay. It’s somewhat removed from the main sights, but with a car I’d recommend it: parking is easy and you can reach everything in ten minutes.
