Red House by the River

Rosa is an excellent host who explains everything thoroughly, answers questions, and provides great city information and maps. We loved the beautifully furnished, clean, and comfortable apartments, right on the river and close to the city. We’ll definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The views are the best, and the apartment is great, with good Wi-Fi speeds of 50-80 Mb/s. The hostess was very helpful, and the location is excellent for seeing all of Porto. Definitely recommend.

This is a lovely, homely flat with lots of space, plenty of comfort, and almost everything we needed. The view is amazing, and the location is great for all the riverside activity. We knew there were stairs, but hadn’t realized how steep they’d be. That’s part of staying in a historic old building, and wasn’t much of a problem apart from hauling luggage up and down. The check-in arrangement felt unnecessary. We arrived in torrential rain and asked to come in 45 minutes early. We knew the policy, but being charged 40 euros for that left a sour taste. After telling the host we’d arrived and were leaving our bags at a local bicycle shop two doors away, we had lunch while waiting for her, instead of standing in the rain. The shop kindly waived its 10 euro fee, which was lovely. An entry code, like most other places use, could avoid all this.

The Red House felt so welcoming and homely. Rosa shared plenty of tips and ideas, and the location was perfect, with uninterrupted views over the bridge and river. Idyllic!
