Rock n Porto Hostel

The bites from bedbugs were awful. Getting to the room with luggage meant tackling steep, heavy stairs, and the place was noisy. Eight people had to share one small bathroom, and the hostel felt far from everything. The kitchen was dark and small, though it had good equipment, and breakfast was nice.

The family apartment worked well for us, with one single-bed room, another with a double bed, and a compact bathroom with a shower. There was also a little cabinet where we could lock away our things, which was especially handy with a toddler. The staff were helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was basic: toast, cheese, ham, butter, two kinds of cereal, milk, juice, coffee, and tea, but they refilled things quickly. The hostel has been freshly renovated inside an old building, and we had a pleasant stay.

The place was clean, and the people were really friendly. There were several of us in the room, but we each had a locker, and the people where I stayed respected one another's privacy. It's a very nice hostel, with rooms named after famous rock bands.

The bathroom is in the shared room, so it's noisy and doesn't feel very private. It's also not enough for eight people. And the top bunk is ridiculously high. I'm 6'1” and still couldn't sort out my backpack while standing; every time I needed something, I had to climb up to get it.
