Stay Hotel Porto Centro Antas

The breakfast was a strong point, with plenty of choice and everything kept stocked through the morning. Two men at reception were especially kind and went out of their way to make our visit special, and the restaurant woman was warm and approachable too. Those three were real assets. I was there for three days with my mother. Some parts of the service and upkeep let the place down. The female receptionists were professional, but could have been friendlier, a smile would have helped. There was tea but no coffee in the room, only two flimsy paper cups, and just two tiny bottles of shower gel and shampoo for the whole stay. When housekeeping missed our room one day, we were left without basics. We had put the cleaning request sign out at 10am Friday, but the room still wasn't serviced. There was mould on the shower ceiling, and no shower mat, which felt unhygienic. The standout staff and breakfast kept the stay from being disappointing. I'd possibly return if the service and maintenance improved.

The hotel is in a quiet area close to the football stadium, and the metro is only five minutes away. Porto centre takes about 20 minutes and 7 stops by metro.

Reception staff were the best part, though service from the rest of the team felt a little slow. The rooms were very clean, if less appealing than others I'd seen in Porto. It's quite far from the city centre, but the continental breakfast was good, with eggs, cheese, ham, and typical Portuguese sweets. A pleasant choice for 2-3 nights.

It's a shame, because the hotel itself is nice, but the A/C was set to heat for everyone. I switched it off, yet woke up sweating. Opening the door brought in fresh air but also outside noise. A hotel isn't much use if you can't sleep.
