The Poets Inn

The old house has its quirks, and you can hear people walking or things happening outside now and then. It was also a little cold inside with winter approaching, though the rooms had extra thick blankets. Earplugs helped, and after a full day walking around the city, I was too tired to care much about the noise. The place is central and easy to find, and check-in and checkout were surprisingly quick. The price and warm hospitality made the stay even better. I’d come back sometime.

The convenient location and easy check-in were the only good parts for me. Bars played music until 6 in the morning, and I couldn’t sleep until it stopped. The walls are paper thin, and the shutters did nothing to block the noise. I wouldn’t stay here again.

There wasn’t any Wi-Fi in the rooms, and reception already knew about the problem but hadn’t told guests. They said I could use Wi-Fi in the level 1 common area instead. I was on the third floor, four flights of stairs away, which made no sense. There was no soap or shampoo either, despite the hotel calling itself three star. For what I paid, I could have stayed somewhere else and had soap, shampoo, and, most of all, Wi-Fi. I felt scammed. False advertising. Don’t book.

The room was clean and a good size, with a balcony and a view of the tower of clerigos. Street noise was noticeable but manageable. For the price, they could provide toiletries. Still, the location was good and I’d stay again.
