TRYP by Wyndham Porto Centro Hotel

I'm addressing this to the managers, Pedro Salazar and Ivo Diaz. The breakfast was the same each day, with too many sweet items, very few proper breakfast choices, and lots of things that weren't fresh. It felt like nobody had put much care into it, and other guests looked bored and disappointed too. The room cleaning wasn't good either, and the bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned when we requested service. Water leaked badly from the window, and even with the window shut and the temperature set to warm, the room was very cold. Employees seemed to show no care, and the person at reception wasn't open to feedback at checkout. The worst part was the menu pricing: it listed two waters for 2.5 € and two cokes for 3.5 €, but at checkout we were charged 2.5 and 3.5 for each individual item. It's not about the amount, it should have been made clear. I also had a bad acne breakout and realized it was from the sheets and pillowcases. I'd read reviews about that on booking.com too. A very poor experience.

Friendly staff, and getting into the city center is easy by foot or public transport. The hotel is clean, nice and budget friendly. My room was spacious and clean, and there was plenty of hot water for a bath or shower. Breakfast was adequate but short on variety. The toaster needs replacing, it's very old, and your toast can fall onto the floor when you pull it out.

I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels, and they’ve always found a way to accommodate me as a disabled guest. Here, I needed to reserve a parking space and was told, by a rude, arrogant person, that they had so many disabled guests it wasn’t possible. I’m officially disabled and have a European disabled sign. It felt like he simply didn’t want to make room for me. I won’t stay somewhere that discriminates against disabled people. If you’re disabled, avoid this place.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. But what stood out most was how patient and generous the staff were with their time when my luggage went missing in transit. They called airports and hotels to help me track it down. A big thank you to everyone at Porto Central Hotel.
