Hotel Vincci Porto

A lovely place with a good vibe. The rooms are large and extremely clean, and the building is beautiful. It used to be a fish market. The location is perfect for visiting Porto, with trams running nearby. The woman at reception was extremely kind and helped us map out our visit. There’s paid parking at the hotel and some free street parking too. I’ll keep this place in mind for my next visit.

We booked a Suite at Vincci Porto for Dec 12-15, expecting more given the hotel’s status and price. The service was disappointing: on the first day I asked for a smaller pillow, and though I asked again each day and was told it would come, no one brought it for three days. I had to go to reception at 10 PM on our last night to insist, and it finally arrived at 11 PM. The room had serious maintenance and hygiene problems. We found blood stains on the duvet under the cover. The shutters were broken, so they didn’t keep out heavy traffic noise or the loud talking of guests below our terrace. The bathtub plug was broken too. We reported these issues, but nothing was repaired. On Friday night, a big party in the restaurant played loud music until 3 AM and kept us awake. With the broken shutters, sleep was impossible. Paying for a Suite and then dealing with blood stains, broken facilities, and staff ignoring requests was unacceptable. A very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We didn’t try the dining services since we were out exploring, but we had a great stay at the end of our honeymoon. Our room was spacious and clean, and the very comfortable bed meant we slept well. The hotel area was quiet, and the staff were helpful whenever we spoke with them. They had our room ready a little early, which was a nice surprise. It’s about a 20-25 minute walk to the town center, depending on where you’re headed. Walking by the water is especially pretty. We split our trips between walking and taking Uber, which was easy to get and affordable. The tram passes right by the hotel and was easy and fun to use. We’d stay again.
