Axis Vermar Conference & Beach Hotel

We had an ocean-view room with a terrace and no complaints about it. The hotel is huge and right by the beach. The bathroom could be better: the bathtub is awkward and slippery, and the sliding door isn’t great either. The dining room is also enormous and quite dim. When lots of groups are there, it gets terrible, with long lines at the salad and main course stations. Dishes often run out, so you have to wait for more food. The food itself is very good, including the salads, and there’s always fish and different meats such as beef, turkey, pork, and duck. Breakfast coffee is excellent, and the fruit, including watermelon, pineapple, and melon, is delicious. We’re satisfied with our stay.

It’s a beautiful place, and we had decided to hold our wedding there. But they took too long to answer our emails and questions, then sent us two different prices, so we chose another venue. Such a pity. The customer service was bad.

The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were great and clean. Even in the low season, they had nice à la carte options in the evenings.

The hotel has clearly seen better days, and time has worn it down. The rooms are adequate, though some share wooden doors between them, which makes noise from the neighboring room more likely. The pool needs renovation: tiles are coming off and the steps are barely holding together. The tennis court is in poor shape. It might be better to use that space for a larger pool area, since the ocean is 18 degrees even in August and is usually rough. Service at the bar takes so long that it puts you off ordering.
