Blue Ocean

Being right on the Camino with the ocean behind the property was great. We stayed in the cabin beside the house, which wasn't ideal, and sharing one bed with my friend wasn't great either. There was a spot to hand-wash clothes and hang them up. The propane tank had a problem, so the stove and hot water didn't work, but the host let us use her shower and brought over a hotplate. A mouse ran around the living room that evening. Before dawn the next morning, the power in our cabin went out, so we had to find our way around with a flashlight.

Blue Ocean turned out to be a lucky find after my friend and I arrived to discover the pilgrim hostel was full. We paid €20 for a private room for the two of us in an apartment we shared with two other women. The ocean view was lovely, and we had a fully equipped kitchen, a smart TV, and a washing machine we could use for free. We'd definitely recommend it.

August 2025. We found the apartment practical and comfortable, and the hosts were so kind. It was a peaceful, quiet place to unwind. Hearing the ocean was calming, a real comfort for the nerves and soul.

The owner wasn't around, so the neighbor helped us. She spoke Portuguese, which we don't speak, but we figured things out anyway 🤦‍♀️. We got to spend the night in a lovely house filled with wonderful antique furniture. Six beds were set up in the living room, where we happened to meet people we knew from our previous hostel. Everything was clean and in good order, and we took our time making breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. 👍
