The ocean-facing rooms have a fantastic view, and even though mine was compact, it was laid out well and had what I needed, including a coffee maker, mini fridge and safe. Everything felt modern. I initially missed the TV because it’s built into a mirrored frame that blends into the room. The service was excellent. Getting in means walking about 50 meters from the road, and parking is off site, but it worked out fine. I loved the place and plan to come back.

The seafront has music playing through central speakers, which was interesting without being intrusive. The streets and monuments were clean and well cared for, and the old buildings are lovely. There’s easy beach access, with shops and boutiques nearby, and the place is central to everything around it. A fantastic spot to stay.

The quiet, spotless room and warm welcome made for a wonderful stay at THE ONE Grand Hotel da Póvoa – by MHMB Hospitality in Póvoa de Varzim. They even left us a small surprise for our engagement, which was a thoughtful touch. A clean, peaceful, friendly place to stay, and one we’d happily recommend.

There’s plenty to do on foot, from restaurants and shops to the beach and walking or biking paths. The location worked really well. Our room was on the small side, but clean and nicely equipped, and the included breakfasts were excellent. Highly recommend.
