The room itself was fine, but the way the hotel handled my lost item was appalling. I realized after checking out that I’d left an important personal belonging behind. I called nine times that evening and emailed twice without getting any reply. When someone finally answered my tenth call at 10:30 pm, the receptionist said the item had already been thrown away. I need it for a medical condition, so that was completely unacceptable. Another hotel told me they keep items in lost and found for four months and were shocked by this. Hotel Costa Verde discarded mine in under 12 hours and didn’t respond to my attempts to reach them. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. They don’t seem to care for their guests.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic, with just one staff member trying to clear tables and replenish the buffet. The room was clean, with a nice bathroom and a small balcony.

The views from the room were nice, and check-in went smoothly. The front desk staff were especially helpful.

The breakfast spread was mostly bread and pastries, so I wished there’d been more choice. I’d hoped for a big pilgrim breakfast before setting off on my long walk. Still, I was pleased with my room and found the staff very nice. The beach is a couple of blocks away, with restaurants and shops within walking distance. I stayed here while walking to Santiago.
