The hotel has been beautifully redone, and we enjoyed relaxing with food and a drink in the restaurant and bar. The pool area was wonderful, with lots of loungers. Our four-night stay was lovely, and the staff were amazing. We had a nice family suite, but it was one of the few rooms without a balcony. I asked if we could move, and the next day they put us across the hall in an incredible room with a large balcony and sunset views. Maria, the manager, was lovely and suggested places to eat and explore. The indoor pool and spa weren’t finished yet, but will be a welcome addition once they are. Can’t wait to come back!

The food outlets were pricier than I expected, even by hotel standards. Portugal is a fairly cheap country, and I understand hotel food comes at a premium, but this was more than I thought. Still, the room was very nice, spacious, and had everything we needed. We visited in the months after the hotel reopened as the new Hyatt Regency, so there were still some kinks to work out. We found it a very nice place and thought it offered very good value. I can recommend it if you’re staying in the area.

First-class upgrade and excellent staff. There’s still some work to do at the hotel, but all in all they’ve done a great job. Can’t wait till next year.

The breakfast was varied and plentiful, but the pools were unheated and we didn’t use them. This newly refurbished hotel seemed better suited to corporate guests than children. The restaurant menu was limited and expensive, and the steak was tough and chewy. The area is very built up, and it’s quite a walk to the Marina, which is expensive and geared towards tourists.

Breakfast had plenty of variety, though the restaurant on site was expensive and sadly lacking. The rooms were good, with very comfortable beds, and they were cleaned daily. Bottled water and toiletries were provided. The bar staff came across as surly, but the waiting staff were charming.
