Quinta dos Sabores Farm House

We came just for dinner, the farm-to-table experience, and had a lovely time. The atmosphere was great, and the six courses were delicious and plenty of food. It was a little pricey, but the experience was worth it.

The owners are incredibly lovely, and the on-site restaurant was the best meal we had in the Azores. Our suite's air conditioner did a great job with the humidity, and the shower had great pressure and a constant supply of hot water. The jacuzzi was a perfect place to unwind at the end of the day. The central location is great for exploring the island. If you're considering staying here in Sao Miguel, book it. You won't regret it!

The dessert was a highlight: the brownie with strawberry sorbet and cookie crumble was fantastic, and the not-too-sweet sorbet's acidity worked perfectly with the chocolate. I enjoyed the meal and the whole experience, and with attentive staff and fresh, high-quality ingredients, I'm sure the restaurant can do even better. I mean this as constructive criticism, and I'd come back to give it another try. My partner and I had the five-course menu at the farm-to-fork restaurant Quinta dos Sabores, about a 15-minute drive from Ponta Delgada. Service was impeccable, and the staff were polite and welcoming. We could also walk around the farm between courses. The entrée was delicious, and everything else with it was fantastic, though if I were being picky, the hummus could have used more olive oil and tahini. The sting ray and salad starter was quite good, but the spicy sauce overpowered such a delicate fish. The carrot soup with cabbage and basil paste was bland. I liked the basil idea, but nothing stood out, and a crunchy element would have added better texture. The trigger fish was cooked very well, and the pumpkin purée was good, but serving it with vegetable and fish consommé meant two liquids that mixed too easily. The beef with Azorean sweet bread was a bit too dry for my taste as a stew, and could have come with more vegetables.

The garden adds something special to the meal. Between courses, we could walk around and even spot some of the ingredients we'd just eaten. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was exceptional. The crew's genuine friendliness really stood out, and they made us feel very welcome and special. It was a memorable experience, and I'd highly recommend eating here.
