Vila Laura is now called the Vila of the Golden Mermaid! It's a beautiful island and hotel, and Tony was a gracious host. I got to see so much of the island with him. The food was fantastic and fresh. Each week I went to the Farmers Market for fresh fruit and vegetables, and there were homemade sweet breads and cheeses too.

The garden was such a nice place to enjoy, and the island location made it easy to head out on trips since it feels pretty central. We stayed eight days and had a wonderful vacation. The host is really kind and attentive, and his tips for hikes and outings were a big help. Breakfast is small but tasty, with fresh fruit and good coffee. Our room was tidied every day and everything was spotless. You get to stay in a proper villa, too. We'd happily recommend Vila Laura to anyone! 🤗

Breakfast each morning was a lovely start, and our room had plenty of space. The hosts were warm and attentive, and happy to help us figure out what to do around São Miguel. We really enjoyed our stay at Vila Laura, such a beautiful Bed & Breakfast.

We could even borrow snorkeling gear from the hosts, who always had a hand when we needed one and knew what was useful for each outing. They helped us plan our daily trips with practical advice and tips, and were genuinely wonderful. Mr Emanuel also took the time to personally show us what he called "the best hike" on the island. The stay itself was very good too.

I was driven to Lagoa do Fogo for my hike around the area, and the host also took me between the airport and the hotel, even early in the morning. I enjoyed staying here a lot. They helped me plan my hikes, and the host was so kind. I can definitely recommend this place.
