Pirata hostel Milfontes

We’re walking the Fisherman Trail and liked staying here. It’s clean, well located, and has what you need. You can make tea or coffee, and there are washing and drying machines available. Highly recommended!

The rooms were pretty clean and okay, though the towel didn’t look clean to me. There wasn’t anyone at reception when I needed to leave my things, and they suggested I leave my luggage unattended. The guesthouse door is also left open all the time, which didn’t feel very secure.

I spent two restful days here, hiking and relaxing at the wonderful beach. The hostel is small, calm, cosy, and very clean throughout. The Hospitalera is so friendly, and her husband is too. Thanks again for the lift to Sagres! There are good restaurants nearby.

The guest house room had a bed, table, and a few shelves, which seemed fair for the price. But we arrived in the rain to a freezing, damp room. Rain got in despite the windows and shutters being closed, so our belongings stayed wet or got wetter. In the morning, getting ready in the cold was miserable. Even at this low price, they should add a heater or put guests in warmer, drier rooms in the main house. I would gladly have paid extra for a better room if that couldn’t be done for free.
