Casas De Incensos

It's quiet and peaceful here, with just 5-6 houses, so it feels like you have the place to yourself. You can hear the ocean, birds, and crickets. Each little house has its own balcony with an ocean view, and there's also a terrace with tables for breakfast and a pool. The location isn't in a village, but if you're used to driving moderate distances for work or school, getting around the island takes a reasonable amount of time. The place is bright, and the decor and furnishings are understated and beautiful. An architect renovated it with clear care. The staff were wonderful, especially Ana, who welcomed us, added thoughtful touches, and gave useful tips on restaurants and places to visit on the island.

Coming back each day felt like returning to a peaceful little island. Casas de Incensos was welcoming and authentic, with lovely amenities, attentive staff, and thoughtful architecture that connects with the area's history. Ana made the stay feel personal and memorable, and the breakfast was fantastic, simple but full of touches we appreciated. The road up is steep and bumpy, though manageable if you're comfortable driving in those conditions. We loved our stay and can't wait to return.

Everything felt calm, from the spotless rooms with their local touches to the wonderful views. It's a great base for villages and good restaurants by car. The host made the experience feel personal, with hospitality that's hard to beat. Thank you, dear host. Highly recommended.

The hosts and breakfast were the highlight. Breakfast was AMAZING, and Anna gave us a whole guide to the island. She helped us feel safe and told us to call if we needed anything. The cats were adorable, and we loved watching the kittens play while we sat outside. We came for our honeymoon, and the room had roses, champagne, and local cheese in the fridge. Such a thoughtful touch. The houses are beautiful, and the pool was great. The secluded setting made for a quiet, relaxing stay. The drive down to the houses takes about 6 minutes from the main road. It's a small, very steep and winding road, and not one for beginner drivers. We were nervous driving it in and out. My husband and I are from NYC and grew up driving in the country, and we still felt a bit uneasy. Even so, staying here was well worth it.
