The balcony was lovely, and the room was clean and simple with what we needed. We spent four nights at Casa Grilo, near the sea, for a reasonable price. Our host was warm and gave us plenty of tips on restaurants and places to visit around the region. I’d happily recommend it.

The sea and coastline looked beautiful from my room. It was clean and simple, with a bathroom, though the furnishings felt basic and the room a little too cool for me. The shower rail and head were partly broken. At €65 in September, it seemed pricey compared with other places I’ve stayed in Portugal. It’s a family-run guesthouse, and the people were friendly.

João was such a friendly host, and the place was peaceful and really clean. We got a map covered with trip recommendations, and had a great stay. We’ll definitely return when we’re in Sagres again.

The older gentleman, who I think may be the father, looked after breakfast each day, and the son handled check-in and check-out. Both were incredibly polite and friendly. The son shared clear, useful information and recommendations. They speak fluent English too. Some of the most attentive and helpful hosts I’ve come across.
