The terrace is small, but nice to have when the weather cooperates. Inside, the studio is clean and practical, with the bed already made and towels and linens provided. Wi-Fi worked without any problems. The air conditioning handled both heating and cooling well, and the TV had Netflix and Prime available through our own accounts. The kitchenette is basic, with two burners, but it also has a microwave, toaster, and kettle for simple meals. There’s a washer and dryer, handy for a longer stay, and the water heater worked well for hot showers after hikes. The location is great for walking, about 15 minutes from the Pico Ruivo parking area. We also had a friendly cat drop by, apparently used to tourists, which was a charming surprise. There were a few drawbacks. The damp weather in the area can leave a slight musty smell, which seems fairly common in this kind of mountain setting. The bathroom has no heating, which wasn’t ideal on cool evenings. You’ll need a car to reach the studio, and a neighbor’s rooster may wake light sleepers early. Earplugs could help. It’s a useful, no-frills base for hikers or anyone looking for a practical place in a good location.
