Casinha da Achada by Atlantic Holiday

We found black and green mold on several walls as soon as we arrived, and the smell was strong throughout the house, especially inside the kitchen cupboards. My girlfriend’s breathing problems got worse after one night. This was the worst holiday home we’ve ever booked, and Atlantic Holidays showed no real concern. Older reviews on other platforms had mentioned similar mold about a year and a half earlier. They’ve apparently known for years and only dealt with it by cleaning the surface. When we raised the issue, they said problems “frequently occur” there, but refused to move us or offer compensation. The place is still rented at full price despite the hazard, without even a dehumidifier. There were also mosquito blood stains on the walls, dirt and dead bugs under the bed, a blocked shower drain, and lots of flies and mosquitoes because there are no window screens. The Wi-Fi password was wrong and they never gave us a working one. Basic kitchen equipment was missing, and the furniture was decades old and worn. The price was high, similar to much nicer places on the island. HomeToGo removed the listing after our complaint, but it’s still advertised on other sites. Atlantic Holidays was negligent and dishonest in how they handled this. Avoid the property and company.
