Quinta da quebrada

We stayed eight nights in a cute, laid-back cottage and had one of the best stays I could imagine on the island. Joanna communicated clearly with us, and the staff cleaned the room and topped up the basket each day with eggs, jams, honey, cheese, ham, fish spreads, coffee, and tea. We didn't see much of the staff otherwise. Fresh airy bread arrived around 8 every morning. The north felt properly relaxed and away from the busy south, yet in May the temperatures were practically the same. You can hear waves breaking on the pebbles and rocks about 200 metres away, and the sea breeze is welcome on warmer days. We worried the lack of air conditioning might mean heat and bugs, but it wasn't a problem if we let the house breathe at night. There were hardly any mosquitoes, which was a relief for my partner. Most good hikes and cultural spots are about a 20-minute to one-hour drive away. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Madeira who wants to relax.

If you want somewhere peaceful and close to nature, Quinta da quebradas feels like a little piece of heaven. The bungalows sit among high cliffs, lush green countryside, many kinds of plants and trees, the North Atlantic ocean, and beautiful stars. Madeira's nickname, the island of Eternal Spring, makes sense here. The northern part of the island is, to me, the most stunning, and you can see locals going about daily life. The bungalow's interior reminded me of my grandmother's house, in a lovely way. Fresh bread or rolls and eggs were delivered to the door every day for breakfast. There are a few good restaurants nearby. Driving around Madeira isn't easy, so check ahead, though you can take a taxi to and from the airport. Cat lovers will be happy; if you're not keen on cats, I'm sure they won't bother you. This place suits people who appreciate nature, peace, and the surroundings. I could go on and on, but seeing it yourself is the thing. Whenever I close my eyes, I still picture this as my number one place so far. I'll definitely return, hopefully with my father. The cabin was more than adequate, the location was perfect, and the staff were super friendly. We had a wonderful stay, and the pool was a relaxing way to cool off.
