Santiago Hotel Cooking & Nature

The hotel sits on a hill above the old town, and from every west-facing room we got a beautiful panorama and incredible sunsets. The city is an easy walk away. We also appreciated the quick check-in and want to thank Octant Santiago Hotel for being so welcoming. The room was clean and had everything we needed: robes, slippers, toiletries, tea, coffee, and even scales in the bathroom. There was a welcome card with cookies and a gift, a hat with a beach bag. The bedding was excellent, the bed huge, and the pillow menu helped us sleep comfortably. We liked having a cozy balcony with a view, too. The dinner was delicious, with each dish carefully prepared. Breakfast was a treat as well, with sparkling wine, honeycomb, different kinds of eggs, and fresh pastries, all tasty and nicely presented. The large, bright lobby and cozy bar made the spacious hotel feel inviting. The grounds were well kept, the pool clean, and the staff attentive and friendly. A few spots, like the bathroom and the head of the bed, could use light cosmetic repairs, but that didn't change our overall impression. We left with very warm memories and would gladly return.

For our one night at Octant Hotel Santiago, we were especially looking forward to the view and the gastronomy, and both came through. The cooking was excellent, and so was the service. Patrick also made one of the best cocktails we've ever had. Thanks, team!

We loved winding down in the cozy rooms after a hike, then having a great meal at the hotel. Chef Hortense is a must, and I'd try one of the cooking experiences too. Trails were easy to reach by car, which worked well for us and our dog. The Castle, historic district, and the region's last operating windmill are all within walking distance. The place felt so welcoming and friendly, and the staff were incredible. It's a wonderful spot to relax with the family, whether you have a dog, kids, or both. Can't wait to come back.

Our room had a little terrace with chairs and an umbrella, and everything was modern, clean, and minimalist, just how I like it. The pool area was inviting and relaxing, though the water wasn't heated, so we couldn't swim. The gym is pretty small and basic. Parking was free and easy, and the town was cute and walkable. Breakfast was perfect. The spread looked beautiful, with fresh flowers, and the food was amazing. There were lots of gluten-free and dairy-free options, which is pretty rare. Service was wonderful from the front desk to the cook at breakfast. We stayed one night at this lovely hotel while traveling from Algarve to Lisbon. Thanks for welcoming us on our trip through Portugal. I strongly recommend it!
