Quinta Santa Isabel

It feels like stepping into the past, which makes this a lovely place to stay. The people are so friendly.

Sinda looked after us so attentively, and we hope we can come back soon. The house is in a peaceful, charming spot, good for unwinding or spending time in nature. We felt completely at home.

The peaceful, welcoming setting made us want to stay an extra day. There wasn't a single thing we could fault. Quinta Santa Isabel, and Casa castanheiro in particular, started to feel like home to us. Our thanks to Sra. Isabel Sacramento and Sra. Zinda, especially Zinda, who looks after the quinta. She's kind, lovely, and always ready to help. We wanted just one enormous bedroom, and that's what we got, along with a spacious living room and a fully equipped kitchen. Fresh bread arrived every day, with butter, cheese, ham, jam, biscuits, coffee, tea, and filtered water. Everything was great. The historic grounds are hard to put into words. There are vineyards, quinces, chestnuts, and hazelnuts, surrounded by a green outdoor area with a special sense of purity. There's also an old communal room where you can relax and play various games. We'd recommend it to families, since it's wonderful for children, or to couples looking for time together. Most of all for us, our dog could stay with us and roam freely throughout the property. There's so much to enjoy and discover here. Simply divine ❤️🥰

We went hiking through the old vineyard and the forest on the property, and I was able to bring my dogs along. The owner showed us her old wine presses and explained how people used to make wine and oil there. It's a beautiful, fascinating place, with so much history in its stones, and everyone made us feel very welcome.
