The place has the feel of a fascinating museum, though there’s also a slightly more modern annex. João, the manager, is a star. He runs a modern cafe nearby where they serve an excellent breakfast. A good spot for a night if you’re not looking for a smart hotel.

The owner was sympathetic and clearly wanted to make things work for me, but the room didn’t come close to being worth the 65 euros a night they charged.

They treated me like family here, and the people and place were so nice. Really lovely breakfast too. Just marvelous 👍👍

The breakfast was incredible, and the service was really nice. The place is old-fashioned, but the comfy bed and the stay itself made it an experience.

Breakfast comes from the manager’s bakery, with fresh orange juice and pastries. He’s attentive, helpful, caring, and a great source of tourist advice, which made the stay really pleasant. The inn itself is a special old house, with interesting decor and the feel of a home from the last century. A new kind of experience for me.
