The views from Villa Mar are breathtaking, and the house has everything you need for a holiday. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the hosts were friendly and communicative. There are restaurants within walking distance, and everyone in town around the house was very friendly. My family and I would definitely stay again, and I'd recommend it to anyone going to Sao Miguel.

Amazing views.

The view was the one thing we enjoyed every day, and the street parking worked well despite there being no private parking. Otherwise, the house was a real disappointment. The photos make everything look brand new, but the place is run-down and badly needs renovation. The towels and bed linen smelled unpleasant and felt damp. There were ants all over the ground floor. The kitchen cupboards were sticky and dirty, and the scratched cookware was poor quality. The price doesn't feel justified by what you get. Two stars is generous, even with that nice view.
