ibis Lisboa José Malhoa

Issa made a big difference during our first trip to Lisbon together. She checked us in, was kind and attentive the whole time, and gave us helpful tips about taking the Metro and places to see around the city. Thanks to her, we felt welcome right from arrival. The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable, with a good-sized window. My mum and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Ibis. Thanks to the whole team, and a special shoutout to Issa for going above and beyond!

The staff were friendly, and their English was passable. The location and the $168 CAD per room per night price were good. Rooms are simple, with two twin beds, but there’s no fridge for drinks or leftovers, and there are no US plugs, so bring adapters. Breakfast is overpriced and not great, so eat out. They sometimes play loud music in the lobby, even at night.

The green spaces nearby are great for walking my dog, and there’s even a small dog park in the backyard. I travel by car with my dog, so the easy car access and pet-friendly policy matter a lot to me. Public transport makes it quick and easy to get around Lisbon too, with the Metro just around the corner. I’ve stayed here a few times now, and it’s my favorite place in Lisbon. I like Ibis hotels because they’ve consistently given me friendly service and good value, often in calmer spots just outside the city centre that still have easy transit access. This visit was no exception. I’ll definitely choose this hotel again next time 😊

The staff were courteous and very nice. They dealt with all our requests promptly, and nothing was left unattended. The hotel is comfortable, and we like that its location keeps us away from the crowds. For business trips to Lisbon, Ibis José Malhoa works well for us. It’s outside the main tourist areas but close enough to catch the Metro and reach the city center in ten minutes. The room is adequate for the price. We’d have a better impression if the rates were more reasonable, and would return if the price matched the services and hotel category, especially for an Ibis and low-cost ACCOR option.
