Moinho Mó da Praia

The mill looks nice from the outside, and the location is pretty good, but unfortunately it doesn’t meet the minimum standards for hosting guests. The place was extremely uncomfortable, hard to access, and poorly cared for. The furniture and equipment were worn out, damaged, and not maintained. There was practically no hygiene. Everything was covered in dust, and we found a cockroach infestation both inside and outside the house. People we spoke to locally confirmed that cockroaches can sometimes be found outdoors on the island, but having them inside is unacceptable and shows a lack of care and cleaning. The owner offered no credible solution and seemed interested only in getting paid, with no concern for the guests’ experience. It was a terrible stay, and I consider it a real rip-off. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and certainly won’t return.

The mill is fantastic, and the host was so attentive. Brites gets five stars from me. Downstairs is an open plan space with a living room, kitchen, and WC. There’s another sitting room on the first floor, a double bedroom on the second, and a bunk room right at the top of the wooden mill. Outside, there’s a dining area with a barbecue. Beautiful. One of the best places I’ve stayed.

It’s a spectacular place to take great photos, and there’s a restaurant and a very comfortable boat as well. Don’t miss it, it’s a must-see for tourists.
