Lisbon Colours Bairro Alto Apartments

It felt like we were staying in Lisbon itself rather than at a hotel. The apartment had fast food and sit-down restaurants just steps away, with a grocery store across the street. Breakfast was delicious, and the whole staff were very helpful.

The room was clean and breakfast was enjoyable. Staff were responsive when other things needed fixing. But the lack of toiletries and other amenities was surprising. The little 2:1 wash bottles aren’t refilled, so we had to buy our own at the markets. And if you bring coffee for the machine, hide it or it may disappear.

The kitchen looked very new and had all the essentials, and the room was cleaned daily and kept in good shape. Service was good despite there not being a grand reception. The location is very convenient, close to everything and with lots of restaurants nearby, though crowds at the pub may make it noisy at night. Breakfast is served at the cafe next door, with a wide range of food, but the cafe is a bit small.

Our child loved the staff, especially at breakfast, and the service was great. We were traveling with an infant and only realized late that the area is known for nightlife, so we worried it might affect the whole trip. In the end, we weren’t bothered at all. Our bedroom faced away from the streets and was completely quiet at night. A high chair in the apartment would have helped, but we were very pleased with our stay.
