Casas Bem Haja

We were supposed to move in on New Year’s Day, and spent all Christmas packing and getting ready. Gorge Pires had said we could pay the full month’s deposit and rent when we met him that day and entered the home. Then, the night before, he asked us to transfer the entire amount straight away. We couldn’t arrange a transfer at such short notice on New Year’s Eve, so he cancelled by email. He wouldn’t even answer the phone. We were left homeless with nowhere to go and no time to make other arrangements, after he’d wasted our time. This felt extremely unprofessional, and I was shocked and disheartened by the experience. Please be cautious about doing business with this man.

We really liked the house. It was cozy, in an excellent location, and had everything we needed. The decor was tasteful, and the bathroom tiles were especially pretty and original. Thank you, Sr.Jorge, for being available and for all the detailed information about the house and the village of São Miguel D'acha, along with the little treats you left us. We’d definitely return, perhaps in summer to take a swim in the pool. 😊 Well done!

The pool and outdoor space were lovely for spending time outside, and the village was peaceful and welcoming. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable, the towels and bedding were good quality, and the Wi-Fi, kitchen utensils and appliances were all good. The house was spotless, well equipped and tastefully decorated, making it a relaxing, welcoming place to stay. Mr Jorge left us a little basket with local bread, wine, cheese and sweets, and greeted us with such care and attention. He was always available to answer questions and make sure everything went well. I truly felt at home. We had a very pleasant stay from the moment we arrived, and I’d warmly recommend the house for a few restful, peaceful days. I’d definitely stay again!

The three days we spent in S. Miguel de Acha were great. Its peaceful setting makes Casa Bem Haja (alojamento local) a lovely place to relax on holiday, and the village is a perfect base for visiting the main tourist attractions around Castelo Branco. Very good, I recommend it.
