Family Holiday Villa Vacations Ponta Delgada

We waited an hour for someone to meet us with the keys. Once inside, the house smelled so strongly of mold that we bought scented candles to try to cover it. It has a lot of potential, but it needs a few things fixed. The sofas were extremely old and actually disgusting. We had a serious cockroach problem, with them all over the outside and some inside. We couldn’t open the windows to air out the house: there are no screens, and when we tried, we saw spiders crawling in. We hated coming back to a place that smelled bad, with too many spiders and cockroaches. We killed so many spiders every night, and at 2 a.m. I had to kill a cockroach after my kid saw it walking around. Absolutely disgusting. My family lives 20 minutes away and doesn’t have anything like this. They have window screens and spray for insects. I’d never recommend this place in its current condition.

We had a wonderful vacation. Mario was an excellent host, very attentive to any questions or concerns and full of recommendations.

The kids loved it. The house itself was lovely and spotless, and the host was wonderful. It’s in a great location, in a neighborhood that feels quiet and safe.

We hated the house and wouldn’t stay again. The sofas were awful, old, and dirty, with a blanket thrown over them to hide their condition, and the place needs better furniture. The windows were dirty too. We kept them shut because cockroaches were all over the backyard. The owner blamed the neighbor, but that wasn’t right. We opened the bathroom window and spiders were walking inside; the front window was dirty as well. It was far too expensive for what we got. Leaving is dangerous too, since the house is on a curve and cars come down fast. You just have to hope for the best when pulling out.
