Hotel Atismar

We usually book four- or five-star hotels in places like Las Vegas, New York, and Dubai, so this was a very different sort of trip: a cheap, cheerful break in the sun, two hours from the UK. For a three-star hotel, it was clean, the food tasted good, and the staff were friendly and worked hard. Thanks, Atismar Hotel. The building is old and hasn't been fully refurbished in over 10 years, so the rooms feel dated, but they were clean and the bedding was really soft and good quality. The bathrooms made noise, with drains gurgling when the toilet was flushed. We could hear neighbours, the road, and other floors too, which is to be expected with tiled floors and a main road location. The pool was cleaned daily. There aren't many sun loungers, but we always found one and could move with the sun, coming and going as we liked without having to save beds with towels. The location is amazing, two minutes from a beautiful beach, and I felt very safe. We were impressed by this bargain hotel and would come again.

The hotel was okay, and the food really wasn't great. The staff, though, were amazing, always friendly and helpful. Big thanks to all of them for making the hotel good, especially Tatiane in the bar, who's brilliant and so funny, like the rest of the team. This was our third time in Portugal in 2025.

A well-run three-star hotel delivering five-star service throughout. It's in an excellent location and very competitively priced. Thank you to Helder, Louie, Jacinto, Farhan, Ttanya, and the cleaning and restaurant staff for making it an unforgettable experience.

We're coming back for a third year, which says how much we love this hotel. The friendly, welcoming staff make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Rooms are lovely and very clean, and the whole place stays spotless thanks to the cleaners' daily work. It's close to the beach, shops, and restaurants, though the hotel's food is so good we tend to eat there most of the time. The balcony views are beautiful too. It's fantastic value and easily my boyfriend's and my favourite place to stay. We look forward to returning every year. We love Portugal so much that I've started trying to learn Portuguese!
