Quinta de Santa Clara

The little hothouse was a fun touch, guests could pick their own vegetables and salad. The pool and location were fantastic too. The property is beautiful and intimate, and our accommodation was just right. We really enjoyed our stay. One thing for the owner to look into: Wi-Fi didn't work in our room at all, only by the pool. It wasn't a major issue since we weren't working on this trip.

We felt at home here, and the people running the place were very friendly, with lots of suggestions for island activities and places to visit. The house was spacious, thoughtfully designed, modern, and really comfortable. It's near the main road, so reaching the island's main attractions is easy, while the large, green grounds are quiet enough that all you hear is birds. We were here in February, and the house was well insulated and warm. There are oranges and herbs to pick in the garden. We couldn't have had a better experience. Strongly recommended!

The private pool is beautiful, the rooms were extremely clean, and the staff were so friendly. We stayed for five days and thought the place was stunning. It's about a five-minute drive from downtown Ponta Delgada. Having a car made it easy, or a taxi is an option for about 10 euro. I'd absolutely come back, 10/10, and I'll recommend it to everyone.

There isn't an ocean view, but you can head straight from your room through farms and up to lovely hills to the north. Quinta de Santa Clara has modern, immaculate rooms, daily cleaning, and good connections to the city. We had a terrific visit, even with January rain. The island is beautiful, with wonderful food and culture, interesting, polite people, and an outstanding range of natural sights. We highly recommend staying here.
