Eira Velha

This was my second time staying at Naturanfitrião, at Eira Velha near Portagem - Marvão, and once again it exceeded my expectations. I’ve now stayed in three of the available houses, and each one has been welcoming, well equipped and spacious both inside and out. The lovely landscape and peaceful outdoor area are great for spending time together, whether with friends or family. It’s a wonderful rural retreat for anyone looking to relax and connect with nature. I wholeheartedly recommend it, and it’s always worth returning.

The common areas are really pleasant, and the house is spacious and well equipped. It’s a great fit for couples with children, who’ll enjoy the animals on the property: sheep, goats, chickens and geese. You can interact with them when the caretaker comes to feed them.

The apartments were huge, comfortable and air conditioned, and the service was excellent. There’s a fully covered, glassed-in barbecue area with a metal fireplace, and Carlos was very helpful. The one drawback was that during the rain, Wi-Fi only worked well at reception. We loved our stay, and if you like cats, Carlos’s assistant is the gentlest cat in the world.

The hardest part was having to leave. Mr. Carlos welcomed us with such warmth and contagious good humor, and the property is very well cared for. It’s peaceful, with lots of beautiful places to visit nearby, and just 10-15 minutes by car from Portalegre, Castelo de Vide or Marvão. We brought our pets, and the facilities worked very well for them too.
